Original building plans for residential properties are required by the State of Florida to be kept for 10 years.  Generally speaking, if your home is older than that it is likely we do not have the plans and are therefore unable to provide a copy.  Many older homes were constructed prior to the Town’s incorporation in 2000 and may therefore be in the custody of Broward County.  You may contact the Town Clerk’s office and we will perform a search and advise whether we have the plans or not.

Items requiring Town Council approval (e.g. purchases equal to or greater than $10,000, policy directives, Quasi- Judicial matters, amendments to the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, or Code of Ordinances, etc.) must be decided upon at a public meeting of the Town Council.  These meetings must be publicly noticed (with additional notice being placed on our website).  Often, the matters to be decided have backup documentation that will be placed on the Town’s website which can be accessed by clicking the Town Council Agenda link under on the main page of the Town website.

The Town of Southwest Ranches is governed by the Town Council comprised of the Mayor and four Council Members.  The Mayor is elected at-large and represents the entire Town.  Each Council Member is elected at-large as well, but they each represent a geographic district within the Town.  To see who your district representatives are at the Town, County, State, and Federal levels please click on the Precinct Finder link on the Supervisor of Elections website: (www.browardsoe.org).

The Town has two election precincts.  Q90 I is located within Southwest Ranches Town Hall (13400 Griffin Road) and Precinct Q91 is located within the Grace Baptist Church (19200 Griffin Road).  To determine your respective election precinct please click on the Precinct Finder link on the Supervisor of Elections website: (www.browardsoe.org).
