Bulk Trash Updates

NEW REQUIRMENTS FOR RESIDENTIAL BULK WASTE SERVICE: Effective October 01, 2007 the Town’s Solid Waste Collection Contract with Waste Management will be renewed with some changes to residential bulk waste in order to keep your cost to a minimum. New residential bulk waste requirements will be:

  • Twelve (12) cubic yard maximum for curbside bulk waste pickup (example of 12 cu. yd. at bottom of page)- Waste Management will not pick up bulk trash piles that exceed 12 cubic yards. Those properties exceeding the 12 cubic yard limit will be marked by the hauler and issued notices of violation by the code enforcement division. Violators will have a 48 hour time period for compliance. Those properties not in compliance within 48 hours will be issued citations and fines which, if not paid, will be imposed as a lien against the property.
  • Twice (2) per month service- Bulk will only be picked up on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday throughout the Town.

NON-RESIDENTIAL TRASH SERVICE ORDINANCE: On June 29, 2007 official letters from Town Administration were sent to all nursery/landscape establishments within the Town’s jurisdiction advising of the requirement by Town Code to obtain either a front end or a roll off container contract with Waste Management for commercial debris/trash. These registered businesses within the Town’s limits were to be in compliance by July 30, 2007. Your Town Council believes that it is in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of its residents to prohibit the improper use of the Town’s services. The Code Compliance Division will be working closely with Waste Management and Broward Sheriff’s Office to bring the commercial community into compliance.
