Rural Public Arts Advisory Board

The Southwest Ranches Rural Public Art Advisory Board was established to help create the Rural Identification Design within our Town. The Review Board consists of residents who live in all areas of our Town.

RESOLUTION NO. 2004 - 57

A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHWEST RANCHES, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2003-34 BY EXTENDING THE TERM OF THE RURAL PUBLIC ARTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE; RESTATING THE COMMITTEE'S SCOPE; APPOINTING OR RE-APPOINTING THE BOARD MEMBERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, on February 13, 2003, the Town Council of the Town of Southwest Ranches, Florida adopted Resolution No. 2003-34, establishing a Rural Public Arts Advisory Committee; and

WHEREAS, Resolution 2003-34, states that this Board will sunset upon the completion of the design arts grant project; and

WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that this Board is still necessary to give the Council input concerning the development of rural signage and to review public arts grants and to recommend potential vendors; and

WHEREAS, on October 9, 2003, the Town Council of the Town of Southwest Ranches, Florida adopted Resolution No. 2004-02, establishing a policy for the implementation of Committees and Boards; and

WHEREAS, in furtherance of the Council's mandate, this Resolution is necessary to extend the Committee's term, to redefine the Committee's purpose and objectives, to implement reporting requirements, and to appoint or re-appoint the Board Members and Council liaison.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Southwest Ranches, Florida:

Section 1. The above referenced recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by reference.

Section 2. The Town Council hereby amends Resolution 2003-34 and extends the term of the Rural Public Arts Advisory Board for one year commencing upon this Resolution's Effective Date in accordance with Resolution 2004-02.

Section 3. The Town Council hereby redefines the Rural Public Arts Advisory Committee's purpose and objectives as follows:

i. To provide input into the development of rural signage identification for the Town and to review public arts grants as they become available.

ii. To review all public arts grant applications, to establish a review process to recommend vendors, to involve residents in the process, and to make recommendations to the Town Council

iii. Board activities shall be accomplished in coordination with the Town Administrator. All recommendations and reports are to be presented and reviewed by the Town Administrator before presentation to the Town Council.

iv. Reports shall be presented to the Town Council quarterly.

Section 4. All administrative and procedural requirements found in Resolution 2004-02 shall remain in force and effect.

Section 5. In furtherance of Resolution 2004-02, the Board shall have a Council Member liaison and shall consist of five (5) members, to be appointed by each Council Member and the Mayor. Members of the Board shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and/or Town Council Member appointing them.

Section 6. The Board shall be appointed or re-appointed as follows:
