The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Board has been meeting throughout the year to discuss the future of our Town and create the 1st Comprehensive Plan. The committee has brought the drafts and changes of the Comprehensive Plan to the Council to review and approve. The Council has sent the Comprehensive Plan to the State for final approval. The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Board will remain active, meeting on occasion to suggest updates and changes to the Town Council as necessary.

A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHWEST RANCHES, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2001-35 BY EXTENDING THE TERM OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ADVISORY BOARD; RESTATING THE BOARD'S SCOPE; APPOINTING OR RE-APPOINTING THE BOARD MEMBERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on March 8, 2001, the Town Council of the Town of Southwest Ranches, Florida adopted Resolution No. 2001-35, establishing a Comprehensive Plan Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that this Board is still necessary to give the Council input concerning all amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and specifically the Affordable Housing Element; and
WHEREAS, on October 9, 2003, the Town Council of the Town of Southwest Ranches, Florida adopted Resolution No. 2004-02, establishing a policy for the implementation of Committees and Boards; and
WHEREAS, in furtherance of the Council's mandate, this Resolution is necessary to extend the Board's term, to redefine the Board's purpose and objectives, to implement reporting requirements, and to appoint or re-appoint the Board Members and Council liaison.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Southwest Ranches, Florida:
Section 1. The above referenced recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. The Town Council hereby amends Resolution 2001-35 and extends the term of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Board for one year commencing upon this Resolution's Effective Date in accordance with Resolution 2004-02.
Section 3. The Town Council hereby redefines the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Board's purpose and objectives as follows:
i. To review and to provide input into all material Comprehensive Plan amendments.
ii. To review and to provide input into the recommend material amendments to the Comprehensive Plan's Affordable Housing Element.
iii. Board activities shall be accomplished in coordination with the Town Administrator. All recommendations and reports are to be presented and reviewed by the Town Administrator before presentation to the Town Council.
iv. Reports shall be presented to the Town Council quarterly.
Section 4. All administrative and procedural requirements found in Resolution 2004-02 shall remain in force and effect.
Section 5. In furtherance of Resolution 2004-02, the Board shall have a Council Member liaison and shall consist of five (5) members, to be appointed by each Council Member and the Mayor. Members of the Board shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and/or Town Council Member appointing them.
Section 6. The Board shall be appointed or re-appointed as follows:
